Ideas Agora

Today we ask you to jam in a different way: you can open yourself a brand new discussion to share your ideas or join already open discussions below.

The focus:

We, the people of culture, let our fragmentation reduce our impact on society.
What is the first thing we need to do to reverse this trend? To become a "we"?

We should embrace the individuality of I

Often in the quest to define a collective 'we', the beauty of different perspectives, and, the histories that have created the divisions, are often relegated as secondary considerations. This potentially creates a sub-culture of questioning the authenticity of the 'we' that has been created. If there is to be a collective 'we' it should be a 'we' that has open dialogue and that encourages plurality of thought and action.

"The hierarchy has changed. We now all have a share in each of those 3 roles - community, artist, professional- in varying degrees. But embarrassment or ridicule is still often more comfortable than experimenting with this new situation.
Where art ca…"

"Thanks! Ideas on how to engage/get artists, cultural operators more interested in such discussions? Or you want to say that the debate in itself was not relevant? Also, could you elaborate on "European citizenship classes"?"
